Rifle Pop-up Match

11/12/16

Saturday November 12, 2016 was a clear, crisp fall day day to do battle with the rifle pop up targets. Temperatures were in the upper 30's. We had 133 shooters attend shooting 26 relays for a total of 384 times. Shooting started at 0900 and ran until about 1415 (2:15PM). This match was shot in conjunction with CMP's Garand/Modern Military rifle match shot on Petrarca range's new electronic targets. Apologies to some of the folks that got jammed up over there and came over late and couldn't shoot the pop-ups.
Patiently waiting for registration as the sun rises over Camp Perry!
A clear blue sky!
Davis Besse in the distance. Can you feel those neutrinos? (sorry, inside physicist joke)
Yvonne and her assistant handle registrations.
And the line gets longer and longer!
Geez, where does the line end?
On the line and ready to shoot, looking towards the low end.
Here's a classic, straight pull Schmidt Rubin!
Another view of the Schmidt!
Here's a shooter that came up with a clever solution to not have to chase his brass.
Ah yes, a shooter after my own heart, using a Garand!
Nothing like an M4 with optics.
Scoped AR-10s ready for action!
There they are, 50 to 300 meters away.
The Aug Bros., together again!
For a real challenge, let's try this offhand.
Neat, a scoped AK!
Looks a Springfield SOCOM.
Of course, generic AR-15s were seen as always.
Maybe we should make this shooter an honorary Aug Bro!
How'd you do with the M4 Dave?
Now that's an old school AR!
M4's seemed to be real popular.
It's a little easier sitting!
There's an interesting rifle.
A look towards the high end. The line is ready!
Over the shoulder look at a double.
This lady tries her hand.
Seeing more and more scoped rifles.
Nice M1A!
Get that mag changed!!
Good work!
That's what I like, eternal optimism!
Another Garand shooter!
Wait a minute I know that guy!
