Rifle Pop-up Match

11/28/09

The day started out cold and clear, but did not deter 120+ shooters from coming out to do battle with those pesky pop up targets. With temperatures starting in the low 20s once the sun came up things warmed up quite a bit. A total of 29 relays were shot.. Shooters again fueled by hot dogs, hot chili and hot coffee kept their energy levels high in preparation to shoot. Our thanks to the RED HORSE for providing the heated registration and refreshment tents!
Again, there was a long of shooters waiting to register!
Registration started a little before 0800 and the tent was crowded.
A look towards the tower.
The General was back with AK.
These two are patiently waiting their turns.
Dave finally gets a chance with his SKS.
The ubiquitous M14.
Along with the AR-15s.
.and their various and sundry variants...
The women seemed to favor the M-4s this year.
While some still preferred a traditional AR platform.
A new challenge was added this year, triple target exposures, but, at least, you had an 11 second window!

These guys came prepared! Hey, is that a straight pull down there?
The Aug brothers were back, and prepared!
This shooter tried kneeling with his AK.
While sitting seemed to be a popular position this year also.
This shooter tries his hand with an FAL.
The Aug brothers like to shoot! They're waiting to shoot a few more relays!
Our stalwart Swiss paratrooper was back with his SIG.
Don't forget to police that brass! A clean Camp Perry is a happy Camp Perry, right Roger?
What, you're not giving the targets wet willies this year Steve?
Speaking of scores, click here to check them out!
The Friends of Camp Perry would like to extend a thank you to the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association (ORPA), the Camp Perry staff, the OHARNG, the 200th RED HORSE for their assistance, and of course you the shooters, in making this event happen! Monies raised by these events helps us with projects in and around Camp Perry.
